The objective of this Fire and Smoke Drill course is to provide the candidates with the knowledge of firefighting techniques onboard an aircraft.
Firefighting of any kind requires a specific set of skills, and Cabin Crew should be prepared optimally.
To make our Fire and smoke training as close to reality as possible, we use our Simulator which is a realistic replica of an airplane interior. In this
simulated Cabin, crew will practice on how to handle during the most likely in-flight fire emergencies.
During our Fire and Smoke Drill Training, real fires will be simulated in ovens, overheard racks, galleys, waste bins and lavatories.
Trainees will also experience the true effects of vision limiting smoke and heat.
The following modules are covered during the course:
Theory
- Fire triangle.
- Fire Classification.
- Explanation and usage of the different firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers and smoke hoods.
- Fire prevention.
- Smoke development.
- Danger of smoke and fumes.
- How to locate, approach and fight a fire effectively.
Practice
- Locate and fight a fire in the oven, overheard rack, galley, waste bin and lavatory.
- The Cabin simulator can be filled with smoke.
